Potential New Member Guidelines

ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS - IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE, EACH POTENTIAL NEW MEMBER MUST DO THE FOLLOWING:

A woman must be a regularly matriculated student (enrolled in 12 or more WCU credits) and have earned 12 WCU credits or 24 transfer credits to be eligible for recruitment and new membership, and she must have a 2.5 cumulative WCU GPA.

WCU Academic History will be released to the chapter members/advisors and members of the Panhellenic Recruitment Staff as part of the Potential New Member application process.

Potential new members must complete the FSL Orientation Module & Quiz.

Each potential new member will register on-line and pay a NON REFUNDABLE $30.00 registration fee.

PROCESS REQUIREMENTS - YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THESE REGULATIONS:

Each potential new member will attend all recruitment events to which she is invited.
The dates for recruitment are:

Friday, January 21st (Open House) *VIRTUAL*
Saturday, January 22nd (Philanthropy Round) *VIRTUAL*
Sunday, January 23rd (Sisterhood Round)
Saturday, January 29th (Preference Parties)
Sunday, January 30th (Bid Day)
Each potential new member will view the Panhellenic Recruitment Orientation presentation, which will be sent to all registered women no later than January 8, 2020.

6. Women that register before Jan 1st will receive their recruitment t-shirt before the start of recruitment; women that register after Jan 1st may experience delays in getting their t-shirt. All t-shirts will be mailed to the address listed on the registration form

Everyone that participates in the recruitment process will not consume alcohol/illegal drugs 24 hours before the first event and 24 hours after Bid Day.
Potential new members may not tell other people which sorority Panhellenic counselors, the Panhellenic Executive Board, or members of the Recruitment Team belong to, if they have knowledge of that affiliation.
Potential new members will adhere to "normal social contact" with sorority members, and/or alumnae during formal membership recruitment. This includes emails, phone calls, online contact or conversation, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, text messages, and ANY other technological contact. Siblings, roommates, academic work, work groups and sports teams are exempt; however, there is to be no talk of recruitment among these exemptions.
Sorority members, new members, or alumnae may not invite groups or potential new members to meals on or off campus, or to public establishments such as movies, shopping or restaurants; and vice versa.
No members, including alumnae, may visit a potential member in her place of residence during formal recruitment.
There will be no promising of bids directly or indirectly by any member, new member or alumna of a fraternity. This includes comments such as, and not limited to “hope to see you tomorrow”, and “hope your wish is the same as ours.” This also includes actions such as, and not limited to, hugging a potential new member when they leave an event.
No favors or gifts may be given to or promised to women by the fraternity and/or by individual members.
Potential New Members agree to the Panhellenic Council reaching out to the parent listed to update them on the overall recruitment process.

Potential new members found in violation of any of the Recruitment rules and procedures will be subject to dismissal from the recruitment program.
