REGISTRATION FEE

$35

Students who do not register and pay by February 2 at 11:59pm will not be permitted to participate in recruitment. Late applications and registration fees will not be accepted.

Recruitment applications are not complete until the application fee is received.

Please note that registration fees are non-refundable.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

You will be prompted to pay your registration fee online after submitting your application using a debit or credit card.

RECRUITMENT SCHEDULE

A mandatory meeting for all women participating in recruitment will take place on Wednesday, February 5 at 7:30pm. All women participating in recruitment MUST attend this meeting, unless they contact Jake Williams, Assistant Director of Campus Activities for Greek Life (jake.williams@centre.edu), in advance to obtain an approved absence. Please mark your calendars!

You will receive a detailed recruitment schedule at the meeting on February 5. An overview of the formal recruitment schedule can be found below:

Wednesday February 5, 7:30-9:00pm: Mandatory Meeting for all Women Participating in Recruitment + Hall Meetings

Thursday February 6, 6:45-11:40pm: Philanthropy Round

Friday February 7, 6:30-11:00pm: Sisterhood Round

Saturday February 8, 5:30-10:00pm: Preference Round

Sunday February 9, 11:15am: Sorority Bid Day

If you are unable to attend any of the events listed above or will need to arrive late/depart early, you must contact Jake Williams (jake.williams@centre.edu) by no later than Monday February 3 at 5:00pm in order to obtain prior approval for your absence.

EXCUSED ABSENCE POLICY

All recruitment events are mandatory, unless a student contacts Jake Williams, Assistant Director of Campus Activities for Greek Life (jake.williams@centre.edu), in advance to obtain an approved absence.

The following are considered valid reasons for missing a recruitment event, if approval is obtained from the Assistant Director of Greek Life in advance:

1.) Academic commitments (including classes, meetings, experiential learning opportunities, drama rehearsals/productions, orchestra, and music ensembles.)

2.) Athletic commitments (including practices and/or competitions)

3.) Illness

4.) Family emergency.

It is the student's responsibility to contact Jake Williams by no later than Monday February 3 at 5:00pm if they will be missing, arriving late, or departing early from any formal recruitment event.

The Assistant Director of Campus Activities for Greek Life and Recruitment Counselors will work with students who have approved absences to ensure that their opportunity to join a sorority is not compromised in any way. Failure to notify the Assistant Director of Campus Activities for Greek Life in advance of anticipated absences, however, may jeopardize a student's ability to participate in the formal recruitment process.

Students who fail to attend a mandatory recruitment event and did not notify the Assistant Director of Campus Activities for Greek Life to obtain preapproval for their absence will not be permitted to continue the formal recruitment process and will not be eligible to receive a bid to join a chapter.

It is not a realistic accommodation to request to miss every recruitment event. If it is impossible for you to attend formal recruitment events, you are encouraged to participate in Continuous Open Bidding (COB) following primary recruitment or in the fall semester.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS & RECORD RELEASE

I understand that I must have a 2.4 cumulative grade point average in order to participate in formal recruitment. Each chapter has also established a minimum GPA requirement for membership in their organization. Academic achievement is highly valued within Centre's Greek community, and as a result chapters rarely make exceptions to their GPA requirements. Students should not expect to receive an invitation to join a chapter if they do not meet the chapter's GPA requirement.

Alpha Delta Pi: 2.5 (Upperclass women: 2.8)

Delta Delta Delta: 2.6

Kappa Alpha Theta: 2.8

Kappa Delta: 2.7

Kappa Kappa Gamma: 2.8

By registering for recruitment you are also authorizing the release of your cumulative and semester GPA information for recruitment purposes to each chapter's recruitment chairperson(s), chapter advisor, and recruitment advisor. You also authorize the release of your academic information to the Director of Greek Life for the duration of your affiliation with a Greek organization at Centre College for academic performance purposes.

FINANCIAL COMMITMENT & DUES INFORMATION

Joining a sorority is a financial commitment and all sororities require dues for membership. These dues range from approximately $500 - $975 annually. Although each chapter does have some options for payment plans, these payment plans are not guaranteed. Students who are concerned about finances or dues should reach out to the chapter’s Recruitment Chair for more information.
